Thermionic nuclear reactor with a connection in series of thermionic diodes (in German)

OSTI ID:4393232
A nuclear reactor is described with thermionic diodes connected in series with the cathodes electrically isolated between them and coaxially surrounded by anodes enclosing the nuclear fuel. One of the advantages of this invention consists in the fact that all of the thermionic diodes of one series are ventilated by a single tube for fission gas, the electrical connection isolated between two neighboring cathodes being so tightly sealed with respect to vacuum that these connections, perforated longitudinally, can serve as a tube for the fission gas.
