From 21st conference on remote systems technology; San Francisco, California. USA (11 Nov 1973) See CONF-731111-. A study has been started to compare the effective dexterity of differert manipulators so improvements can be made. This preliminary study proposes a classification of successive slowing factors due to viewing, the manipulator itself, the master terminal, etc. The next consideration was a strategy showing effects compared to a man performing the same task by hand. The first data are compatible with the work of others, and open the way to further work. The study emphasizes the importance of force reflective control. (auth)
