Mean lives and excitation energies of the lowest levels in /sup 64/Ni, / sup 66/Zn and /sup 68/Zn were measured with the aid of the (k, alpha ' gamma )and ( alpha , p gamma ) reactions. The gamma -rays were detected in coincidence with the outgoing particles. The following mean lives were determined from DSA measurements: 400 plus or minus 150 fs for the level at E/sub x/= 1.35 MeV in / sup 64/Ni;270 plus or minus 100,210 plus or minus 110, 330 plus or minus 200, 80 plus or minus 70 fs for the at E/sub x/= 1.87, 2.45, 2.53, 2.94 MeV in / sup 66/Zn, and 1300 plus or minus 300,> 160, 600 plus or minus 200 fs for the levels at E/sub x/ = 1.08, 1.89, and 2.76 MeV in /sup 68/Zn respectively.
