HCN Radio Emission from the Hourglass Region of M8

Journal Article · · Astrophysical Journal
DOI:https://doi.org/10.1086/181206· OSTI ID:4385289
Radio emission from the J = 1-0 line of ¹²H¹⁴CN was detected from the Hourglass region of M8, which includes Herschel 36, an 07 star of known optical properties embedded in dust. The HCN cloud is extended from Herschel 36 throughout the Hourglass region. Implications of this detection are discussed. (auth)
