Superhigh-frequency methods for measurement of plasma density in the FIAN stellarator (in Russian)

Microwave methods for the measurement of the plasma density in the FIAN stellarator are reviewed. The circuit of the microwave interferometer with electronic phase inverter creating traveling waves in the region lambda = 3 cm is described. The resonance methods for the measurement of the plasma were examined. These use as a measurement resonator the metallic chamber of the stellarator with excitation of basic ( lambda = 10 cm) and fast ( lambda = 8 mm) types of oscillations. The range of density measurement is from n = 10/sup 8/ to 10/sup 11/ cm/sup -3/. The Fabry--Perot microwave resonator in the region lambda = 4 mm, constructcd for density measurement of 10/sup 9/ to 10/sup 13/ cm/ sup -3/, is described. The question of the effect of the magnetic field of the stellarator on the density measurement by resonator methods is examined. (tr- auth)
