Determination of traces of europium in an organic complex of gadolinium

The determination of traces of Eu in Gd/benzoyltrifluoroacetylacetonate/ piperidinium cation by instrumental neutron activation analysis is described. Account is taken of the self-shielding of Gd by the method of standard additions and the results are compared with those obtained with an external standard. Homogeneous standard addition is achieved by dissolving the complex in ethanol. (auth)
