The radio sources in a field of about one square degree centered near the galaxies NGC 2798 and NGC 2799 were observed with the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope in the continuum at 21-cm wavelength. On optical photographs, these two galaxies appear to be connected by a bridge of luminous material. The purpose of the observntions was to search for further evidence of a physical interaction between these two galaxies in the form of bridges or jets of nonthermal radio emission. No such evidence in the present observations was found. One of the radio sources observed in this field is coincident with the nucleus of the SBap galaxy NGC 2798. Since physically isolated galaxies are occasionally radio sources, however, one can draw no inferences concerning a possible interaction with NGC 2799. In fact the estimated intrinsic radio power of NGC 2798 is well within the range for normal galaxies. X list of 10 other apparently unrelated radio sources which have been detected in the observed field is given, as well as a possible optical identification for one of them. (auth)
