Turbines for atomic-electric plants; Turbiny diya atomnykh elektro-stantsii

Book ·
OSTI ID:4371293
This study is the first attempt to reduce to one book the present state of knowledge on turbines for atomic power plants. The first section deals with various types of reactors night water, heavy water, gas, liquid metal, etc.) and turbine design. The second part deals with blade design for high-, intermediate- and lowpressure steam. Particular attention is devoted to the aerodynamics of flow through the turbine, especially, in the low-pressure stages of the turbine. Regenerative heating of the feed water is treated. The third section deals with the basic thermodynamic characteristics of moist steam, the flow of moist steam in turbine lattices, and the effect of moisiure content on the characteristics of the turbine stage. Part 4 deals with turbine design based on saturated steam. Attention is paid to the separation of condensed steam. Prevention of erosion to the operating blades is covered. Turbine construction in various countries is covered in Part 5. Various methods of controlling turbines is treated in Part 6. 176 references. (SJR)
