Tabulated data (26 samples) are presented which compare the values for moisture in gypsum-containing soils found by a weight method on samples dried at 105 deg C with those found by a neutron method. The latter values are consistently higher than the former. The water of crystallization of gypsum is the difference between the weight at 80 deg C and that at 190 deg C. By using factory calibration curves which account for this moisture, the readings obtained with a neutron moisture meter can be corrected to give satisfactory results. (TTT)
