Neutron dosimetry and spectrometry methods used in cell mutation experiments

Book ·
OSTI ID:4369498
From symposium on the effects of neutron irradiation upon cell function; Nuremberg, Germany (22 Oct 1973). Calculation and measurement methods are described that make It possible to determine absorbed doses. Neutron dosimetry is done with ionization chambers and fission chambers, while spectrometry methods use proton radiator spectrometers and /sup 3/He proportional counters. Spectrum measurements are necessary to calculate the sensitivity factors of the fission chambers and to determine the absorbed dose, from the fluence as well as from the ionization chamber measurements.
