New developments in the reprocessing of HTGR fuel elements (in German)

From 24th NPAC congress; Hamburg, Germany (2 Sep 1973). A report on the research and development program on the reprocessing of irradiated HTGR-fuel elements in the Federal Republic of Germany is given. The first phase consisted of the development of a technically realizable process scheme (headend, waste-gas combustion, dissolution of the fuel, standardization of the fuel solution, solvent extraction). In the second phase, the process will be tested under condition very similar to operating conditions. For this purpose, a small demonstration plant has been designed and is now under construction.
