Angular distributions of the (/sup 3/He, d) reaction on /sup 51/V have been measured at 10.48 MeV with a counter telescope. Spectroscopic factors and 1 values of /sup 52/Cr levels up to 7 MeV excitation energy were obtained by comparing the data with distorted-wave Born-approximation theory. Some unreported leveis excited by 1 = 1 proton transfer have been observed. Shell- model calculations predict well the lf/sub (7/2)/ spectroscopic strength, but fail in reproducing the observed 2p/sub (3/2)/ strength. (auth)
