Lifetimes of yrast states in /sup 51/Ti, /sup 52/Ti, and /sup 52/V
The /sup 6/Li and /sup 7/Li bombardment of /sup 48/Ca in conjunction with recoil distance measurements has been used to measure the mean lifetimes of excited states in /sup 51/Ti, /sup 52/Ti, and /sup 52/V: in /sup 51/Ti, 2754-keV level (tau = 1.2 +- 0.4 nsec) and 2344-keV level (tau = 13.9 +- 2.3 psec); in /sup 52/Ti, 3027-keV level (tau = 36.7 +- 6.3 psec); in /sup 52/V, 2541-keV level (tau = 7.7 +- 0.5 psec). The ..gamma..-ray decay schemes and lifetimes are consistent with an interpretation involving yrast states of the (..pi..1f/sub 7/2/)/sub n/ x (..nu..2p/sub 3/2/,1f/sub 5/2/,2p/sub 1/2/)/sub m/ configuration where n = 2 or 3 and m = 1 or 2. The experimental level energies and B(E2) values are compared with shell model calculations by Horie and Ogawa. (AIP)
