Radioimmunoassay of LH (in Japanese)
The methods of isolation of binding free hormones (B/F), the double antibody method, adsorption method (dextran charcoal method), and precipitation method (dioxane method) were compared for the RIA of LH in the blood. Comparison of the standard curves revealed no difference among the three methods within measurable limits. The dextran charcoal method, a rapid quantitative determination, tended to be inferior in the variation and reproducibility of intraassay. The dioxane method was shown to be an excellent method in the convenience of procedures, precision, and reproducibility, except for the disadvantage of using an antigen-antibody system which is heterologous to LH. When changes in the LH values during menstrual cycles in normal Mature women were examined, a large increase was observed in the phase of ovulation. In case of the administration of Enavid, an oral contraceptive, large fluctuations occurred in the LH value, indicating that ovulation was accompanied by an increase in LR. Changes in the blood LH before, during, and after the administration of Clomid, aimed at ovulation induction, were observed. (Japan)
