The Cs/sub 2/MoO/sub 4/-MoO/sub 3/ system was investigated by powder x- ray diffraction, thermal analysis, and infrared and Raman spectral studies. Five cesium polymolybdates were identified: Cs/sub 2 Mo/sub 2/O/sub 7/, Cs/sub 2/Mo/ sub 3/O/sub 10/, Cs/sub 2/Mo/sub 4/O/sub 13/, Cs/sub 2/Mo/sub 5/O/su b 16/, and Cs/sub 2/Mo/sub 7/O/sub 22/.
