Translated from Prib. Tekh. Eksp.; 16: No. 4, 228-230(1973). The results of investigations of an accelerator-tube element having electrodes that are irradiated by helium ions are described. It is shown that the dielectric strength of such an element (120 kV/cm) is double that of the dielectric strength of an element having nonirradiated electrodes (60 kV/cm). (auth)
