Investigations are made in the energy region 25 to 110 keV on L-shell photoelectric cross sections in the elements W, Au, Pb and U. It is observed that the maximum contribution of coherent and incoherent cross sections to the total gamma-interaction cross section is of the order of 30% even at 110 keV in U. The L-shell cross sectional values are compared with the theoretical values of Schmickley and Pratt. The errors in the reported Lshell cross sections do not exceed 8%. The agreement between theory and experiment is within 10% except in U at 25 keV. (auth)
