Properties of nuclear levels in /sup 151/Sm were studied by measuring angular distribution for the /sup 152/Sm(d,t)/sup 151/Sm reaction and spectra at several angles for the /sup 152/Sm(/sup 3/He, alpha )/sup 151/Sm and /sup 150/Sm( d,p)/sup 151/Sm reactions. The reaction products were analyzed with a magnetic spectrograph and detected with photographic emulsions. Transfer l values were deduced from the (d,t) angular distributi ons and from the ratios of (/sup 3/He, alpha ) and (d,t) cross sections. The (d,t), (d,p), and (/sup 3/He, alpha ) reactions on targets of /sup 151/Sm were also studied in order to learn more about the wave function of the /sup 151/Sm ground state. The low-lying positive parity levels can be described by the Nilsson model with Coriolis and DELTA N = 2 interactions included. However, the properties of the low energy negative parity states could not be explained as easily. No mixture of Nilsson states was found which could simultaneously explain the single neutron transfer intensities and the Coulomb excitation probabtlities from previous measurements. (auth)
