Transient behaviour of Rajasthan Atomic Power Station under load and reactivity changes

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4353259
From symposium on nuclear science and engineering; Bombay, India (13 Mar 1973). Digital simulation of process system to study the behavior under unsteady conditions due to various perturbations in steady operation on the CDC-3600 computer has been done for the Rajasthan Atomic Power Station. The model generated for the digital simulation of the dynamics is used to study reactivity steps, ramps, load rejections, and pick-ups of various magnitudes. To improve the plant response to load transients, a power plant controller scheme is suggested. The plant behavior with and without the suggested controller is presented. The model accounts for plant process and instrument time constants and transport lags. (INIS)
