DIFFERENTIAL SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF ZIRCONIUM IN PRESENCE OF HAFNIUM

A differential spectrophotometric method of sufficient accuracy has been developed to permit the determination of zirconium in the presence of hafnium. By applying the Alizarin Red differential method of Manning and White to a fixed sum of hafnium oxide and zirconium oxide, it is possible to achieve this goal. The results are comparable in accuracy and provision to those obtainable by gravimetric methods. (auth)
