Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:4351650
The Army Package Power Reactor critical experiment employs separate fuel, boron, and steel plates. The fuel plates consist of 0.002 in. x 2.5 in. x 22 in. enriched uranium foil clad with stainless steel. The beron plates consist of B/sub 4/C in a matrix of iron clad with stainless steel. In the APPR, the uranium and boron will be present in a stainless steel matrix as UO/sub 2/ and B/ sub 4/C equally distributed in all plates. Retailed drawings of the test element are presented.
