Fuel testing and post irradiation examination

From international nuclear industries fair; Basel, Switzerland (16 Oct 1972). The UKAEA carries out irradiation testing of fuels for gascooled, water- cooled and fast reactors in the Windscale Advanced Gas Cooled Reactor, the Winfrith Steam Generating Heavy Water Reactor and the Dounreay Fast Reactor respectively, together with the Materials Testing Reactors DIDO and PLUTO at Harwell. The irradiation conditions are reviewed and reference is made to the extensive equipment available for post-irradiation examination of these fuels. (auth)
