From international nuclear industries fair; Basel, Switzerland (l6 Oct 1972). Helical boilers are being employed or are proposed for gascooled reactors, both the Advanced Gas-Cooled Reactor (AGR) and High-temperature Gas- cooled reactor (HTGR) types, sodium cooled fast reactors and water reactors for marine propulsion. The major technical characteristics of boilers of this type are described. The experimental and fabrication developments which form the technical background to nuclear helical boiler systems are also covered. (auth)
