E.D.F.-C.E.A.-S.E.C.N. research and development program for prestressed concrete pressure vessels (in French English German)

From international nuclear industries fair; Basel; Switzerland (16 Oct 1972). The E.D.F.,'' the French C.E.A.'' and four civil engineering companies gathered in the Societe d'Etude des Caissons Nucleaires'' have been involved since 1969 in a program of research and development on prestressed concrete vessels. A program of fundamental research (concrete performance of calculation codes, theoretical studies of the heat insulators, exploitation of measures on existing vessels) and of studies of the main components (performance of an original process for insulating i.e., the hot-skinstudies on a more classical heat insulation, particularly for the H.T.R.-moveable shutters) has been completed. The results thus obtained allow one to draw encouraging prospects for the building of prestressed concrete vessels for thelight water process. (auth)
