From international nuclear industries fair; Basel, Switzerland (16 Oct 1972). Prestressed concrete pressure vessels, mostly of cylindrical shape, are commonly realized with a vertical and a horizontal prestress. This latter may consist of single tendons or of wound bands. The main characteristics of such horizontal winding, the more important specifications and the problems, which will be met in practice, are described. A short presentation of the newly developed SW 8500-System is included. (auth)
