Sorption properties of crystalline cerium phosphate and arsenate ion exchange materials were investigated in case of alkaline metals in HCl and NH/sub 4/Cl solutions at various concentrations. At low ion concentration the Na/sup +/ < K/sup +/ < Rb/sup +/ < Cs/sup +/ and at hig h ion concentration the reverse sorption orders were found. No difference was found between the D-values for the metals when they were alone or together in the investigated systems. The results show that the cerium phosphate has somewhat higher selectiviiy than cerium arsenate. (auth)
