Absorption spectra of dilute solutions of ZrCl$sub 4$ and ThCl$sub 4$ in molten alkali metal chlorides (in Russian)

The temperature dependence of the electron absorption spectra of dilute ZrCl/sub 4/ and ThCl/sub 4/ in molten Na, K, and Cs chlorides was studied. The maximum absorption wave in all systems studied was in the region 270-600 nm and was linearly displaced toward the long-wave region with increase in the inverse of the radius of the alkali metal cation. At the same temperature in a given salt medium, the ZrCl/sub 2/ waves were in a longer wave region than those of ThCl/sub 4/. (tr-auth)
