Distribution of $sup 90$Sr and $sup 137$Cs in poultry and in hens' eggs

The distribution of /sup 90/Sr and /sup 137/Cs in poultry and in hens' eggs was studied in birds fed with contaminated food. Out of the total content of radiostrontium and radiocaesium, 77.9% of /sup 90/Sr was ascertained in bones and 94.2% of /sup 137/Cs was observed in flesh. In eggs /sup 90/Sr was found to accumulate mainly in shells, while /sup 137/Cs was more or less equally distributed in the white and the yolk of a fresh-laid egg. (INIS)
