Study of the coherent anti pd $Yields$ anti nd$pi$$sup -$ reaction at 5.55 GeV/c

Based on 150000 photographs an analysis of the pd - nd pi reaction is presented. Cross sections for all the coherent channels obtained from this exposure are also given. The interpretations of the n pi enhancement at M/sub n pi / ~ 1.3 GeV/c/sup 2/ and the d* bump at 2.16 GeV/s/sup 2/observed i n the pd yields nd pi rection are discussed. Peripheral-type models are used in order to describe some production features of the pd yields nd pi reaction. The diffraction-dissociation aspect of the present data is discussed. Helicity conservation in the s or t channel is tested for the pd yields nd pi - channel and also for the pd yields pd pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/ and pd yields Nd3 pi reactions. (auth)
