The effects of neutrons and gamma rays on the dielectric constant and the dielectric losses of polyethylene filled with inorganic fillers (chalk and titanium dioxide). It is shown that the dielectric constant of polyethylene is frequency independent in the range of 50 to 10/sup 10/ Hz, but depends on the density of the filler. When irradiated with neutrons up to 18 n/cm/sup 2/ the changes of the dielectric constant are the same for pure and filled polyethylene. Thc study of the diclectric properties of polyethylene with inorganic fillers (chalk, titanium dioxide) shows that the presence of these fillers in the polymer stabilize the dielectric constant and dielectric losses when irradiated with gamma rays up to 150 Mrad and with neutrons up to 10/sup 18/ n/cm/sup 2/ in the temperature range of --50 to + 100 deg C.
