The results of studies on problems of the multiple generation of particles in the inelastic interaction of high energy particles with nucleons and nuclei are reponted in this collection of ten papers. In a wide interval of energies, from several GeV to 10/sup 12/ eV, elementary pion-nucleon and proton- nucleon interactions, coherent interactions of high energy pions and nucleons with nuclei, and incoherent collisions with complex nuclei are examined. Studies made at energies attainable in the IHEP accelerator are reported. Theoretical, experimental, and methodical problems in the study of the interaction of high energy particles are considered. Titles and authors of the papers in this collection are listed. (trauth)
