The parametric interaction of nonelectrostatic surface and longitudinal ion-acoustic oscillations in an inhomogeneous plasma sheath in a high-frequency electric field is investigated. A dispersion relation is given for high- frequency surface waves which are not fully electrostatic. The threshold value of the rf field and the growth rate beyond the threshold are determined. (auth)
