We have made a high-resolution study of the weak transitions in the reaction /sup 40/Ca(d,p)-/sup 41/Ca. J/sup pi / assignments are suggested for se veral states on the basis of new 1=2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 determinations. It is suggested that the known 2010- and 2462-keV states form band heads of K= 3/2 /sup +/ and 3/2/sup -/ rotational bands, respectively. The member of the K=3/2/sup +/ band are the states 2010 keV, 3/2/sup +/; 2605 keV, 5/2/sup +/; 2882 keV, 7/2/sup +/; 3201 keV, 9/2/sup +/; and 3678 keV, 1 1/2/sup +/. The member of the K=3/2 band are the states 2462 keV, 3/2/sup -/; 2575 keV, 5/2; 2960 keV, 7/2/sup -/; 3370 keV, 5/2/sup -/; and 3831 keV, 1 1/2. Parallel rotational bands in the mirror nucleus /sup 41/Sc are also suggested. (auth)
