The adsorption of tracer quantities of zinc(II) on the anion-exchange resin Dowex l-X8 chloride from solutions of various chloride concentrations depends on the nature of the cation (secondary cation) of the supporting chloride electrolyte. Finally, the adsorption of zinc(ll) from LiCl, CaCl2, MgCl2, NaCl, LiCl and HCl, HCI, KCl, CsCl, NH4Cl, and HONH3Cl has been studied at 25 deg and the results interpreted in terms of ionic association of the secondary cation with anionic zinc(II) chloride complexes (a) in the resin and solution phases and (b) in the resin phase only.
