ABOUT THE $lambda$ -$alpha$ POTENTIAL FROM THE $sup 5$He*cap lambda/ AND $sup 9$Be*cap lambda/ HYPERFRAGMENT BINDING ENERGIES. Report No. 8/VI

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4339674
With an s state assumed for the LAMBDA deg particle, the wave function extends a appreciably outside the region of the alpha core so only the depth V/sub 0/ and range a of the potential are important. Taking the binding energy of the A deg in He/sup 5*/ and Be/sup 9*/ two relations between Vo and a are found which determine the values of Vo and a. The information obtained about the LAMBDA deg -- alpha potential may be helpful in the investigation of the LAMBDA deg -nucleon potential in order to obtain information about the range and thus about the agent of the LAMBDA deg -nucleon force.
