Motions of new and old spot groups in the large scale flow of the solar photosphere

International conference on aerospace and aeronautical meteorology. The proper motions of sunspot groups as a function of their age were investigated. Proper motion refers to the zonal component of motion after the mean solar rotation rate (assumed invariant with latitude) is substracted from the daily spot group displacements. (WDM)
