A device is presented which provides a leaktight support for a rotating plug in the slab sealing a nuclear reactor vessel. This device is provided with supports, parts allowing the appropriate movement, and sealing joints (between the lower face of the plug collar and the corresponding part of the upper face of the slab). Part of the upper face of the slab is in the form of a ring raised up from the rest of the slab. The other parts and the collar are equipped with sealing joints, annular friction track parts and a means for raising the plug. Means are also available for centering during the rotation of the plug and for tightening up the collar onto the slab during the operation of the reactor. These plugs are used, in particular, for liquid metal cooled fast neutron reactors. (FR)
