A process is described for the application of deformable overcoatings of nuclear fuel particles that already have fission product retaining coatings. It consists of tumbling batches of the particles on a moving surface while grains of dry powdered overcoating material, including a binder, are introduced on to the particles, while simultaneously applying a film of binder solvent. A rotating drum may be used for the process, having its axis inclined to the horizontal. (UK).
