Effect of $sup 60$Co gamma irradiation on the isoenzymic spectrum of lacta- dehydrogenase (LDH) during the embryonal development of chickens (in Bulgarian)
The dynamics of appearance and disappearance of the isoenzymes of lactate-dehydrogenase (LDR) during the embryonal development of the chickens were studied. Depending on the age of the embryos 2 to 4 anode and one cathode isoenzyme (LDH/sub 5/) are determined. On the 12th day after the beginning of the incubation the activity of the anode isoenzyme decreases rapidly and the activity of LDR/sub 5/ increases. During the first days after hatching LDH/sub 5/ is retained only in the liver and the muscles. In front of the most fast moving anode isoenzyme appear additional poles, which disappear after the 15th day of the embryonic development. At irradiation with 1000 rad of 6-day-old embryos a third anode isoenzyme appears in the 6th hour after irradiation and in the 72nd hour in the brain of chickens irradiated with 3 rad and in the skeletal muscles of chickens irradiated with 1000 rad the cathode isoenzyme (LDH/sub 5/early differentiated. In 21-day-old embryos irradiated with 1000 rad in the 24th hour after irradiation in the liver appears LDH/sub 5/ which is absent in the controls and in embryos irradiated with 3 rad. In the blood serum of irradiated 21-day- old embryos strongly increased activity of the most active enzyme is observed which diminishes significantly in the 24th hour after the irradiation while the activity of the cathode isoenzyme (LDH/sub 5/) increases in the later hours after irradiation as well. This is most strongly expressed in embryos irradiated with 3 rad. The results obtained show that the radiosensitivity of the embryos is not constant and undergoes fluctuation in the process of the embryogenesis. Most significant changes in the isoenzymic spectrum are observed in the period of the organ formation, i.e. in the moment of the most intensive cellular differentiation. (auth)
