The distribution of hydrogen isotopes in deuteromethanes obtained from monodeuteromethane in electrical discharge and in a heated quartz tube at 1000 deg C has been examined. A difference in the distribution of deuterium in various deuteromethanes has been noticed. In the electrical discharge the formation of CH/sub 2/D/sub 2/ is preferred. (auth)
