COMPARISON BETWEEN USSR AND SWEDISH NEUTRON STANDARDS

Journal Article · · Atomnaya Energiya
OSTI ID:4329112
S>The Russian neutron standard source H/sub 26/ was measured in 1952 at (4.70 plus or minus 0.30) x 10/sup 5/ n/sec, and the source H/sub 22/ was measured in 1951 at (5.96 plus or minus 0.17) x 10/sup 5/ n/sec. The Swedish neutron standard source Q/sub 1/ was measured in 1952 and 1954 by Larson at (2.65 plus or minus 0.05) x 10/sup 6/ n/sec. On the occasion of Larson's visit to Moscow the three sources were compared with one another and Q/sub 1//Q/sub H22/ = 0.439 plus or minus 0.5% and Q/sub H26//Q/sub H 0.082 plus or minus 0.5% was measured. If in addition the time factor is taken into account, the three sources have (for 1957) the value: Q/sub H26/ = 6.07 x 10/sup 6/ n/sec, Q/sub H22/ = n4.82 x 10/sup 5/n/sec, and Q/sub 1/ = (2.86 plus or minus 0.06) x 10/sup 6/ n/sec.
