Results of an investigation of the clinical dosimeter IDMD-1 in the beams of electron and bremsstrahlung radiation with energy from 5 to 42 MeV are given. In the course of the investigation the dependence of the instrument readings upon the dose rate of electron and bremsstrahlung mdiation, the possibility of carrying out phantom calculations, and the influence of scattered radiation on a remote unit and on the accuracy of calculations were studied. The results of the investigation showed the usefulness of the IDMD-1 device for dosimetry of high energy mdiation. The readings of the instrument do not depend upon the dose rate of bremsstrahlung and electron radiation. The irradiation dose of a remote unit up to 5 per cent of the whole dose does not cause changes in the readings of the instrument which go beyond the limits of technical specifications. (auth)
