The activation method was used to determine thermal neutron activation cross sections, sigma /sub o/, and resonance integrals, RI. Values obtained were sigma /sub o/ = 47.5 plus or minus 2.4 mb, RI = 218 plus or minus 10 mb for /sup 94/Zr an d sigma /sub o/ = 22.9 plus or minus 1.0 mb, RI = 5.20 plus or minus 0.54 b for /sup 94/Zr. Calculations were based on the Westcott convention and the known cross sections for the /sup 59/Co and /sup 197/Au neutron flux monitors. Measurements confirmed the existence of a p-wave neutron resonance capture for /sup 96/Zr. The half-life of /sup 97/Zr was measured as 16.90 plus or minus 0.05 h. (auth)
