A dual-source radiation technique is described for analyzing slurries, solutions and fluidized powders, as well as discrete samples. One source emits a high flux of thermal neutrons (0 to 0.5 eV), while the other emits a flux of fast neutrons (200 keV to 20 MeV) which is substantially free of thermal neutrons. Feasibility of this technique for the determination of CaO, SiO/sub 2/ and Al/sub 2/O/sub 2/ in ceme nt raw mix by both recirculating slurry snd batch sample analysis has been demonstrated by using/sup 252/Cf as a thermal neutron source and /sup 238/Pu-Be for fast neutrons. Results indicate that each ingredient can be determined to better than 0.2% with a total analysis time of 15 minutes. (suth)
