The linear expansion of triglycine selenate crystals along the STA100!, STA010!, and STA001! planes and of dicalciumstrontiumpropionate crystals along the STA100! and STA001! planes was determined before and after irradiation. In the triglycine selenate irradiation flattens out the maximum in the thermal expansion curves in the phase transformation region. In the propionate crystals the coefficient of thermal expansion of the STA001! direction has a sharp maximum in the phase transformation region after irradiation, but irradiation has no significant effect on the STA100! direction. The imposition of an electrostatic field on the triglycine selenate leads to an increase of the values of the thermal expansion coefficient in the ferroelectric phase and a particularly large change occurs in the region of phase transformation.
