Luminescence kinetics of scintillators

Eksp.; 16: No. 4, 79-81(1973)Theflare-up time of light flashes in NaI(Tl) (6 plus or minus 0.5 nsec) and CsI(Tl) (22 plus or minus 1 nsec) crystals and the duration of the fast and slow components of the light flashes in mixed crystals based on naphthalene are measured for irradiation of the crystals with the single x-ray pulses. It was established that the luminescence of crystals can be described by two exponentials having the constants 3.6 plus or minus 0.5 and 114 plus or minus 7 nsec for naphthalene + diphenylbutadiene, 4.2 plus or minus 0.5 and 18 plus or minus 2 nsec for naphthalene + anthracene, and 4.6 plus or minus 0.5 and 53 plus or minus 3 nsec for napthalene + anthranyl acid.
