Technical Report ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.2172/4315384· OSTI ID:4315384
The chain of events leading to the wonld energy crisis is followed for each industrialized country and the effects that energy shortages are presenting and optiona that are available are identified. The Soviet Union has extensive oil and gas reserves and the USA has extensive fossil fuel reserves, but needs to develop technology for coal and shale. Western Europe has been dependent upon Middle East oil, but could develop their coal resources. Japan is dependent upon oil imports, and with the advanced prices of oil, the capital on that island needs to be used internally in improving living conditions. (MCW)
