The molecular weight of Escherichia coli freundii hyaluronidase has been determined to be 2.2 × 105 and that of bovine testicular hyaluronidase 7.1 × 104. The x-ray sensitivity of the bacterial enzyme was not altered during its isolation from the cell and subsequent purification. Finally, both the bacterial and the testicular hyaluronidase behave as a single enzyme; i.e., there is no evidence of polydispersity in the inactivation curves.
