SOME EXPERIMENTS ON THE POLAROGRAPHY OF PLUTONIUM(VI) IN COMPLEXING MEDIA

Polarographic reduction waves at the dropping mercury electrode have been obtained for plutonium(VI) in several complexing medla. In oxalate base solution a reversible wave is obtained corresponding to the reduction of plutonium(VI) to plutonium(V). The non-linear dependence of diffusion current upon plutonium(VI) concentration for this reduction is consistent with the induced disproportionation of plutonium(V) in oxalate solution. (auth)
