The 100 m radiotelescope of the Max Planck Institut fur Radioastronomie was used to make a fully sampled survey at 408 MHz of part of the northern sky. The region covered was chosen to complement an earlier survey made at Jodrell Bank (Haslam et al. 1970). The area covered is 12h < R.A. < 04h. --8 deg < Dec. < +48 deg . The angular resolution of the survey was 37 arc minutes. Two independent surveys were made of the area and the rms temperature difference in the colder regions was 1.7 K. The temperature scale and zero level were determined from comparison with other surveys and had errors of 10% and plus or minus 3 K respectively. Contour maps are presented in both equatorial and new galactic coordinates. (auth)
